Mind Blowing

So long suddenly I lost neither my touch in blogging, nor some other things kept me busy and prevented me from blogging. And also I wanted to publish my maiden short story, it takes me some time to compile it in Tamil, since I am little hesitant to make it in English. It will take some more time.
Back from a tiresome vacation, starting with fear-fun filled rides in Queensland, followed by a pious-yet patience walk to the hills of Thirumala. I went to Chennai with lot of schedules in mind, but couldn’t make it at least for an half, thereby leaving me longing for next vacation :)
I wanted to share some unique piece of news items which I came across last week & which made my eyebrows to expand and took some of my time to think about.

1. In London, they celebrate a day as “Traditional sports day”, on which they close traffic on most of the streets to let the children play in streets.
(I haven’t imagined this will happen in London nor any possibilities of happening in India!!)

2. In Kochi, the Municipal corporation had declared a holiday to facilitate the disposal of garbage which has accumulated for a long time.
(Hope the city wouldn’t turn into another Surat! But i am sure this wouldnt happen in London!!)

3. A man in Coimbatore had swallowed his tooth brush and successfully it was removed by the medicos. (Again, what a fateful day the person had, we can swallow the toothpaste, but what if toothbrush!! – I can’t imagine!!!)

4. An article in “The Hindu” (9.8.07), which speaks about the brain. I am amazed to know that brain can feel pain if any part of the body gets injured or hurt but this pity human organ can’t feel pain if any of its own parts get injured or if any foreign particles gut struck with it!! Weird isn’t??

Again I have to quote the same daily for another article by P.Sainath (latest Magsasey winner), which speaks about fateful rural life of India. Its one kind of article which I like reading. Only such articles have some power to awake and potential to make the lawmakers to think and act. (I suppose!!)
