Dasaavataram - Review

I was still awe-struck by the brilliant performance of this unit which outsmarted all my expectations.
It all starts with a 12th century incident of drowning a "veera vasihanavite" along with his beloved idol "Sri Govinda raja perumal" in the Bay of Bengal at Chidambaram. This part is a good historical treat. It was immediately followed by a biological lethal weapon getting out of hands, of the good-mans and was in all love from the gang-mans. The real story starts here and then takes off like a propellant engine with crackers at equal intervals, In the mean time kamal has donned another 9 different roles. My catch and most others would be "Christian Fletcher" - the bad man. I couldn’t figure him as an odd-man-out; I mean one of the avatars of Kamal. I thought him to be a special Hollywood invite. If "Christian Fletcher" is for bad things then "Balram Nayadu" is for tickling our funny bones.
As our mail-floats.....George-Bush is portrayed as a man who doesn't know "Nacl" or the one who thinks of dropping a nuclear bomb, as if he is going to eaves drop in an enemy fleet. There is couple of other such humorous. Kamal's dialogues are also fantastic. “Hiroshima" and "Pearl Harbor" - dual do get some late response from audience. It’s a good thinking on part of kamal."Ulaga nayakane" Lyrics was superbly penned by Vairamuthu as is the case with "kallai kandal" by Vaali.

Finally I wonder the novelist approach of linking Tsunami with the destruction of biological weapon. In all, it has a good mix of marriage between the coincidences. Lyricist Kabilan joins Kannadasan, Vaali et al. in the select band of freelance acting.

It was an visual treat to watch Kamal in 10 different roles.
I usually resist watching Hollywood movies, but now I wonder will it be like "Dasavataram"?

The complete story is covered here .
