Physics Lab…..- Place I hate….most in my school:

During my school days I hate the Physics to the maximum level (now I am an engineer – its different issue… ;-) and the lab experiments to the maximum.

Every Monday morning session will be the Physics lab which 99% will be the total waste of time for me. There are lot of experiments like convex lens, magnetometer, screw gauge, vernier calipers etc.etc… which I will just see them... dust them out of their case, handle them with care and at 12.30 return to the lab assistant with utmost care….!. Back in the class put some cooked values in the observation and get corrected…!!!

This is my experience during HSC public practical examination. I got the easiest experiment “Liquid lens” it’s just to find surface tension or something to do with mercury.

Though I know what should be the final value, (and of course mugged up the values) I don’t know exactly how to do it. There will be two examiners in which one person knows the subject and the other person is from the different subject (i.e. he acts as the chief examiner…!). I came to know this fact only after a funny experience; `I taught both the persons will be proficient in the subject.

Liquid lens apparatus was kept just beside an examiner…He was staring at the apparatus which is also in front of a window.

Examiner: nalla kitta vachi pannupa….

Me: ok sir…. (Ayyayo kitta vanthu mattikettenae…!!!!)

He just started to watch me how I was doing……right from the beginning….

(Village man citya pakkara mathiri….0

Examiner…: window open pannikoppa….. Sekkirama complete pannu….

Me: yes sir… ippo complete panren…..

(Acted as if I were doing experiment and taking measurements….)

I went near the apparatus started initial adjustments…..and was of the thought that whether I could finish the experiment or not…..)

Now came the rescue for me…..

The HM came inside and asked that examiner…..

HM: sir neenga economicsa……historya…..?

Examiner: Economics…..sir…

Me: (adappavi athan ippadi moraichi morachi parthiya…..?)

Then I got a bit of relief…..entered the values and derived the output successfully…. (!)

Later I developed some interest towards physics in during my college where I had 2 papers in physics.

My Crush list…:

It wouldn’t be proper if I didn’t mention about my crushes especially in school and college days, when everything else is exposed.

My first crush happened in the ninth standard. She is my school mate. The most attracting feature in her is she had lot of pimples in her face. She studied in a tuition so I along with one of my friend (he was studying in the same tuition, but I was not) will sitify her at the tuition. This continued for 2 years. Then in my 10 standard I stood began to concentrate in studies and stood school first. Slowly this crush began to vanish…..during my +1 and +2 and she was also later got committed to another person.

There came another crush during the college days… but it stayed for only a short period. Except these two girls, no other girls had any significant impact in my life. Now no more crushes….no more clutches…..!

My school days…..!

I had my schooling in 3 different schools. From LKG to 4th STD in Sri Akilandeswari vidyalaya (a famous school in Tiruchi). Then my 5th STD in Gnanaa vidyalaya in Tiruvallur. Then I studied in DRBCCC Hr. Sec School in Tiruvallur from my 6th standard to 12th standard. It is a good school with about 400 students in every class (6-12) and one among the oldest schools in Tamilnadu (about 120 years).

When I studied 9th standard my school was state first in SSLC, the next year it stood state second in SSLC. So ultimately there was lot of expectations when my batch was writing the exams. There was a lot of onus on our shoulders. But unfortunately I could garner only district second position to my school. Till now ( 10th STD) I was a very mischievous student in the class but will see to that my name is not coming out, of course by studying well and getting marks.

I have done all sort of nonsense naughty things that would invite the irk of the teacher. Some of the samples include once making the teacher to fell down from his chair (honestly this was an accident and I have to do nothing with it…! – except being kept the chair unconsciously that one of its legs are so week and no person can sit on it). For this I had a heap of beatings in front of my whole class. (I had to act as if the beatings were not so painful especially in front of the girls –summa vallavan mathiri- ethayum thangum ithayum ullavan mathiri- similar to the situation depicted in the film BOYS…!)

Then have bunked most of the last periods especially if it were a PT period or Tamil period. (Intha latchanathula Nan than class leader…!).Has uttered many running commentaries (tamizhla ethugai monai… iyya …intha koiyya….!!!) in the Tamil period and invited the curse of the Tamil iyya…(pundit).

But all these things are only till my 10th standard. Once I stood school first I gave away all such naughty behaviors (valla surtti vachiten…!). In my higher secondary I took the Biology group even though I was not confident enough to study life science.

My college Days………

The first reason by which I choose this college in Single window counseling is for its popularity in my area (Tiruvallur) that’s because it was the only college around Tiruvallur at that time and one of my friend has taken a course in that college (just a day before my counseling) and finally I wanted a college which is not out of reach of travel more than a hour. Nothing more than special in my choosing of this college.

Well that’s the preamble. Now what happened inside the college………..

Initially for two semesters there was only an iota of difference between the conventional school days in the sense that there were no uniforms in the college and there was no canteen in the school. Except these two others remained the same.

In fact for those people from BRBCCC schools will never enjoy the college life because they could have enjoyed the school life to the fullest core as what happened to me also.

I had only selected friends in the college and was fortunate enough to be considered as good studious but unfortunate that I got branded as silent student. Even after the completion of 4 years I still haven’t uttered a word at least a smile or hello to some of my classmates. That’s sound surprise isn’t …???. But it is the saddest fact. Most of my classmates could have branded me as very very very reserved person (VVVrP J ) but it is only known, to those people who I move with that I am not reserved always….!!

I was a biology student in HSC and took Computer science in my BE. First two semester of my college as I told earlier has no difference from an ordinary school life. After which I was used to such ambience and things hasn’t changed much. Nothing significant happened in my college life since I didn’t attended no symposiums no seminars no paper presentations except being a mute spectator inside the class room even I didn’t raised voice for asking doubts…..!!!.

But my sincere advice or suggestion as it could be called, would be please please participate in all such activities. Though I am not exposed to such activities you could develop your both interpersonal and intrapersonal skills though such events.

The main reason behind my lackluster attitude is that I was used to stay away from such activities, right from my school days itself though I was the school topper. Rarely As a consolation in my final year I attended an inter-departmental quiz competition and won the prize as I am a quiz wizard ( at least in my class…..!).

It wouldn’t be proper if I fail to mention about my HOD in this post. He is a very nice person who moved with students so friendly. Had he thought he could have developed a strict kind of rules and regulations but he didn’t. He enjoys good rapport with all the students as well as the fellow faculties. He is one of the interesting persons I have met in my life.

And to top it all finally I graduated my BE with First class and distinction. Then got a MBA seat in PSG enrolled in the rolls and within two days I discontinued the course to take up the job offer. Now my TC proudly pronounces that I am an (ungraduated) alumnus of the great PSG college of technology….!

Oru kosuru news…:

PSG was the first college in Tamilnadu to offer MBA program right from the way back in 1968.

Local body elections are round the corner

DMK govt has been doing well in all spheres as it travels comfortably on the good financial positions that JJ has left with. Will have to wait and watch after the elections how does it could able to manage all freebie schemes.

Clearly 2 acre scheme is going to be a failure.

Though they launched the scheme in a hurry-burry just to close the mouth of JJ, there are no sufficient lands and even if there are lands it cannot be distributed to the farmers as it involves lot of social and economical problems.

Imagine this case study…:

Let’s assume that there are 5000 landless farmers in Tiruvallur district and only 1000 acre of land, it can be given to only 500 farmers.

That too the farmers cannot be assured a land in their native area.

Some one residing in Tiruvallur may get a land in extreme border of Uttukottai or Tiruttani. In such case he cannot be afford to shift his house nor he can carryout farming. Just he can get the land (if at all!! There is some land…) keep the land safely under the credit and can avail some loan ….at last a useful way to utilize the 2 acre scheme. Actually this scheme should be called as 2 cent scheme or 0.2 acre scheme that will be apt…!!!

On the other boat AIADMK as like other elections depends mainly on its traditional vote bank and MGR followers. Now it also has some issue chicken-gunia. And also in Local body elections only local issues will gain importance and the party image will be considered only next to the local issues. Clearly DMDK will score a point and infact a bonus point also in this election. Let’s see how these rivals will fight.

Zoo

Today (18-09-06) I went to Vandalar zoo with some of my friends. Basically I loves to see things like trees animals etc. But in zoo we were able to see only animals sitting idle Tiger just sitting as if it was on a meditation and lion sleeping as if it was bored to see the people. Only Aquararium and snakes were seen lively to give us a little consolation. Crocodiles also provided some ferociuosment.. i mean entertainment by opening its mouth and frightening the people.

Got TC

Finally today (15-09-06) I got the TC from PSG in order to join Tech Mahindra. As i submitted my letter stating to discontinue the course they accepted and gave me the TC almost the same day. But no one opened their mouth about the refund of fee until I have to ask them specifically though they were conscious enough to make a call and fill the vacant seat. Despite this i wish to thank the authorities for their speedy work and the cooperation they provided later towards the refund of fee.

Me in Kanchipuram

This temple is the abode of Sri Kamatchi amman whose anger was pacified by Sri Adisankarar by installing Sri Chakra. Very big temple with high class maintanence by Sri Shankara madam.

  1. ஸ்ரீ கைலாசநாதர் ஆலயம்

This temple is the abode of lord Siva with Parvti. This is also a big temple with very good maintanence.

  1. ஸ்ரீ உலகளந்த பெருமாள் ஆலயம்

This is a small temple which is under renovation. This is the abode of Lord Vishnu after the avathara of Vamana one of the 9 avatharamas of Lord Vishnu. Probably as far as I know this idol is the largest in size and also very grand as if how Lord Vishnu measures his first feet in “Boologam (this world)”, secod feet in “Mellogam (heavenly world)” and his third feet on the head of King Mahabali.

  1. ஸ்ரீ வழக்கறுத்தீஸ்வரர் ஆலயம்

This is a small temple which is the abode of lord shiva, who is believed to have the power of solving the long disputed problems or cases that are pending before the judicious halls.

  1. ஸ்ரீ முத்தீஸ்வரர் ஆலயம்

This is also a small temple which is the abode of lord Shiva. This temple is the place where one of the nayanmars thirukurippu nayanar who had a policy of taking his lunch only after washing the clothes of a follower of Shiva.

  1. ஸ்ரீ சொன்ன வண்ணம் செய்த பெருமாள் ஆலயம்

This is a small temple, which is the abode of lord Vishnu and the birth place of Mudalazhwar the first among the 12 alwars. This perumal got this name because once when the King ordered for the exile of a follower of Vishnu an alwar by name thirumizhisai alwar also followed that person and requested this god to follow him since he has no place in that town by means of hymns.

God accepted his request and started leaving and followed the alwar. Finally the matter was brought to the king and he requested the alwar to return and then the alwar requested the god to return again by means of hymns.

  1. ஸ்ரீ அஷ்ட புஜ பெருமாள் ஆலயம்

This is also a small temple which is the abode of lord Vishnu. With ferocious bow, knife, charka etc.. with a war fare look and 8 hands.

  1. ஸ்ரீ வரதராஜ பெருமாள்

This is the main temple of kanchi and the biggest among all. This is the abode of lord Vishnu. This is one among the temples where the idol of the god is located in upstairs. This temple ownes a high class ancient sculptures which dates back to time of cholas, pallvas etc.

This temple has the golden lizard which is believed to bless us by doing away with all our evil acts.( pavams ).

Later I learnt that there are about 108 sivan temples and 18 vishnu temples in Kancheepuram alone. (WOW…!!!!)

In short I am going blog about a literary comparison between azhwars and nayanmaras… kept it reading….!!!

Me under CT scanner

Today I had the opportunity to have an experience under the CT scanner – inorder to faciltate my Doctor for his medical investigation. As I suffered from severe giddiness for months together he had doubts about brain tumours and thank god nothing to worry and now my treatment continues for Sinstuitis. Under the scanner Since being the first time a little anexity and perplexion since I went alone. And I have the rare phobia that what if the instrument go broken when I was under it….? Etc etc…. Finally all things got right with Gods grace.

Me in Apollo

Today (7-9-06) I had a chance to visit Apollo hospitals (Creams road) and I was amazed at which the cleanliness is maintained in a hospital. No man I believe from a remote village will call it as a hospital instead a five star hotel. Relatively consultation fee is 10 times higher than that of a local clinic and the laboratory charges are almost 3-4 times greater than that of local labs. Prices of drugs in Apollo clinic are at least equal to that of the local pharmacies that is the reason why they were able to run around 30 pharmacies in all over the city! This creams road is a famous road in Chennai which hosts a valley of public and private sector offices that includes BSNL, E-Funds and Hexaware technologies apart from Apollo heart block , Dental block and Diabetics block (Sindoori).
