MayaKannadi - Review
Director Cheran's latest venture is with the message that Cine industry, a dreamland of millions is actually a nightmare . Its the story of how a hair dresser who owns a descent life dreams of a cini entry and ruins his life, with the sudden twists in the story line. Cheran has strived to change his get up in the first half while he turns to his usual style in the second. Its a very common Tamil cini story which has been seen through the ages, but cheran is trying to give it under the differnt capsule. A good entertainer atleast in the first half.
Coming to the actors, the person who donned as father of Navya, is actinng good, pats to director to have shown him as an practical father. i.e He is not opposing the love of his daughter instead explains his family situation and urges him to earn 2 lacks in a year ( which is little weired! ).
Songs are not so catchy, hard to believe Raja's music.
I would say cheran has deviated from his track when compared with Autograph and Thavamai thavamirindu. Still he can be patted for not relying on masalas nor the kind of item numbers.
On a lighter vein it is the cherans way of telling story to SJ Surya's way of "Vyabar", where the hero's aims to earn atleast a ruppee greater than Billgates :-). And thank god Tamil people have already greeted "Vyabar" with empty seats.
