Pune in News...

This week Pune has been in news for two different reasons...first is for the 21st International Marathon for creating awareness on AIDS since Pune tops in the AIDS patients list in the country with 1.6% when compared with 0.8% overall in India.Atleast on that day there happened a long traffic jam finally for a good cause. I had an oppurtunity to watch this feat in person, a great feat to watch.
Next for the ugly incidents that took aftermath of the desecration of the statue of Ambedkar in Kanpur.Burning of the famous "Deccan Queen" express and the incidents that followed were not desirable.Atleast we were relievd from our training half an hour earlier. I unfortunately also had to experience the fear in person but since being in the heart of the city it was yet another normal day for me except being in my room at 6o clock whereas the usual time is 8 or 9.
